Shelley Wagner is the owner, principal playground inspector and trainer of Active Recreation. She is certified in Canada through the CPSI program as a Canadian Certified Playground Inspector (CCPI) and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Management with a specialization in Outdoor and Environmental Education from Acadia University.
She has worked all over Canada as a Trip Leader, Environmental Educator, Outdoor Education Instructor, Camp Director and Leadership Development Coordinator. Through her involvement with the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA), Shelley became involved with the Canadian Playground Safety Institute (CPSI).
Active Recreation was born from her passion to provide children with safe play environments and her love for education and training.
Shelley is highly skilled and certified in her field;
Member of the CSA Technical Committee for the Z614 standard “Children’s Playspaces and Equipment.”
Instructor for the Canadian Playground Safety Institute (CPSI) (known in Canada as the National training body for playground inspectors)
Has been a guest instructor for the Ontario Parks Association’s Playground Academy.
Member of a number of recreation and playground related associations.
